About The Speaker

Julia Samuel is a UKCP accredited psychotherapist who has spent thirty years working with bereaved families, both in private practice and with the NHS at St Mary's Paddington where she pioneered the role of maternity and paediatric psychotherapy. She is Founder Patron of Child Bereavement UK. She has written two best selling books, Grief Works and This Too Shall Pass. She was awarded an MBE in 2016 for services to bereaved parents of babies. She is a Vice President of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and is an Honorary Doctor of Middlesex University. She has recently been appointed a commissioner on the UK Commission on bereavement.
